Yoga in India is considered to be around a 5,000 year old mental, physical and spiritual practice. Yoga is one of the best ways to maintain good health. It is practiced as a means of meditation to transform the body and mind.International Day of Yoga, also called as the ‘World Yoga Day’ on the 21st of June was an actively exciting day in Divine Child High School & Junior College.
The school was privileged with the presence of Mrs. Kusum Sharma a learned teacher in yoga from ‘Yoga Institute’, Santacruz. She runs a yoga institute at Chandivali called ‘Yoga for Life’ which presently caters to approximately 100 students. She has schooled herself as a ‘Mudra Therapist’ and also in the ‘Nutrition & Weight Loss course’ from Asian Heart Hospital, Bandra. She journeyed with the students of std. 5th to 8th on a health trip of various asanas. She instructed them about postures to eradicate various health issues. In today’s health conscious world, it is but natural that every person aims at staying healthy and happy. We at Divine Child High School & Junior College are elated at this opportunity to refresh and rejuvenate our bodies and minds at the start of the academic year.
