BALSURAKSHA & POCSO ACT

BALSURAKSHA & POCSO ACT

It is imperative that children are under total protection so that they can survive, grow, learn and develop to their fullest potential. Millions of children deal with violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination on a daily basis.

In Divine Child High School, we took up such crucial and mandatory issues to educate our students in the form of discussions and important drills to deal with these situations. We formed a BALSURAKSHA committee and a POCSO committee on Friday 29th January 2021 to ensure that the children are safe and taken care of all their needs.

The Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO ACT 2012) was enacted to protect the children from offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography with due regard for safe guarding the interest and wellbeing of children. As decided by the committee, on Monday 1st February 2021 we showed the students a video on ‘Komal ki kahani’ which dealt with the concept of good touch and bad touch. Images pertaining to the same were also shown and explained to the children. They were made aware of the bad touch and asked to inform their parents or teachers about it.

Celebrating Savitribai Phule

Celebrating Savitribai Phule

Savitribai Phule was the woman who motivated and encouraged by her husband Jyotirao Phule, started the first school for girls in Pune in 1848.

In the month of January, on the occasion of her birth anniversary. the students of our school celebrated her life and remembered her fondly. Essay competitions and Elocution competitions about her, were held online.

The nation is very proud of the contribution of this strong woman who carried the torch to show the direction for the development and freedom of the girl child, through education.

TRADITIONAL DAY

TRADITIONAL DAY

We at Divine Child High School celebrated traditional day on the 25th of January 2021.This celebration added sparkle and brightened our day in these difficult and trying times.
The children presented themselves in the online class in their colourful attire and eyecatching jewellery. They shared information and thereby enlightened the rest of us about their tradition and culture.
Their sharing made us reminisce and value the charm of our motherland and how beautifully we all co-exist along with its vast and diverse culture and traditions. Last but not the least it brought about the spirit of oneness – Unity in diversity.

WE ARE A REPUBLIC

WE ARE A REPUBLIC

The dawn of Tuesday 26th January 2021, marked the auspicious occasion of our nation’s 72nd Republic Day.

It was on the historic day of 26th January 1950, when the Constitution of India came into effect and the people of India resolved to bring the nation to a SOVEREIGN, SOCIALIST, SECULAR and DEMOCRATIC standing, promising justice, liberty, equality and fraternity to all.

A great many struggles have since stormed our country’s progressive tread. We still continuously battle social, economic and political issues. The present farmers’ protest and uprising has dampened the enthusiasm of our Republic celebrations this year. And yet, standing in solidarity for justice to prevail for them, with hope we move forward.

The zeal of taking forward and bringing to fruition, Mahatma Gandhiji’s and Ambedkar’s dream of a Republic India is intensely on. And so, the country envisages this dream through you, dear students, that as each one of you blossoms as integrated personalities and sincere citizens, you will vastly contribute not only towards its further development, and work toward the upliftment of those in need, but also for its global relationships and world peace at large.

Now that we have unfurled the tricolour and paid respect to our country, let us re-ignite within ourselves, a spark of disciple, determination, courage and commitment in constituting our great country, solemnly resolving and striving to be a voice for fair play; a beacon of fraternity to uphold the dignity of all; a compass that directs to promote equal status and opportunity for all; a tool to shatter fetters that bondage our expression of thought, belief, faith and worship.

Let us remember and salute our exemplary leaders who have passionately steered our nation toward progress and development and earned laurels for our country. Taking a leaf from their page, let us walk the talk and like Mahatma Gandhiji said, let us be the change we want to see in the world.

Let us continue to tune in with patriotism.
