Marathi Elocution competition was held online through Google meet on 21st August 2020 for class 8th, 9th and 10th students. Every participant was given precisely 3 minute for the speech on selected topic. It was indeed astounding to see how beautifully students had put their thoughts, insights, humour and delivered the speech.

Students were very confident and spoke really well. Some topics were pretty easy/straightforward whereas a few topics were challenging. The competition was concluded with a few words of encouragement by the judges Tr. Amal and Tr. Tina.

ADIEU AMIGOS!

ADIEU AMIGOS!

Under very unusual circumstances, it was on Thursday the 6th of August when the Divine Family officially bid adieu to 5 of our family members.

Although house-bound with the lockdown and pouring rains, 4 of our teachers did manage to reach school where our Principal, Vice-Principal and Supervisor awaited their arrival… to bid them a touching farewell and wish them a happy retirement.

The task of a teacher is a truly commendable vocation and educating is a noble mission. It is with genuine gratitude that the school acknowledges and pays tribute to their dedicated and sincere service in the field of education.

Teacher Saly
Your 28 years here at Divine Child have enriched our young students. You have not only imparted knowledge to the students, but have always shown a lot of patience with those in difficulty and been a companion to these girls gently accompanying them in their struggles and many a student endeared to you. I’m sure you will be missed by them.

Teacher Antonette
You served in this school for 21 years and your simplicity and unassuming personality is what has been a constant in all your relationships here in the school. Your loving guidance to the young girls and accommodating nature will be treasured by them for a long time to come.

Teacher Nanda
You devoted 14 years teaching in this school. The young children were drawn to you by your jovial attitude and loving concern for them. You will be missed for your spontaneous funny one-liners during staff meetings and gatherings.

Teacher Monica
You have been so full of life with your little children in class. For the past 18 years of your service here, your motherly care taught them to adjust to this new way of life away from home. You laughed, cried, danced, sang with them all the while and the little ones will remember you for it.

Cynthia
You have spent 34 years serving this institution in the administrative section. You have carried out your duties towards handling the Primary section administration with devotion and loyalty. Your service will be remembered.

Dear teachers,
As you leave the portals of this school, we wish you a well-deserved retirement and pray for health, happiness and peace in this new life that opens up to you. We hope you carry with you, the memory of a pleasant and rich collaboration.

May the road rise up to meet you
And the wind be on your back
May the sun shine warm upon you
And the rain fall gently down
May God hold you… ever hold you… gently hold you…
In the palm of His hand.

Good luck and God bless.

WE’VE DONE IT!!

VANAMAHOTSAV DAY

VANAMAHOTSAV DAY

Vanamahotsav is a type of festival which is celebrated for tree plantation. It is organized every year in the month of July across India, when millions of trees are planted on this day.

In an earnest attempt to lend a green touch to the school environment and sensitize the students about their role in conserving it, Divine Child High School celebrates Vanamahotsav by planting small saplings in the school campus every year. But due to pandemic the students were given information about the importance of Vanamahotsav Day. Students were asked to present their views through drawings and paintings of nature. The celebration was an ideal opportunity to instill the value of social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees and forests.
