The birthday of our late Ex-President “The Missile Man” Dr. A.P.J. Kalam was celebrated in school as ‘Reading Day’. The teachers and students paid respect to his memory right through the day, beginning with the Assembly which was dedicated in his honour. The day was spent by viewing Powerpoint Presentations on his childhood; Model reading by teachers; Students silently reading books of their choice and discussing views, sharing feedback, exchanging books, etc. The movie “I am Kalam” was also viewed.
A day well-spent, reliving the greatness of a humble man and inculcating the invaluable interest in reading among the students. Our “Missile Man” Dr. A.P.J. Kalam will stay embedded in our hearts for years to come.
