At 8.00am on Friday 4th Sept 2015, the students of Divine Child High School & Junior College, Andheri (E), began the day by giving praise and thanks to God for the gift of our mentors and guides – our teachers. The hour long prayer service invoking the presence of God and His blessings on our teachers was followed by felicitation by the students of their respective teachers in the classrooms.
At 10.00am the students and teachers in each of the classrooms, were attuned to the monitor displaying the speech of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi and his interactions with students from schools in New Delhi and through satellite with students of other states, too.
The programme which lasted for almost 2 hours was interesting. He spoke about his experiences, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and the role of a teacher. The gist of his speech included requesting the HRD Ministry to replace the ritualistic exercise of awarding ‘Character Certificates’ with awards of ‘Aptitude Certificates’ to students; he asked the students to develop leadership qualities and not to get deterred by failure.

Dramatics is exciting! A platform to unfold life in its various phases through the medium of drama. The students of Red, Blue, Green and Yellow house put up a splendid show of emotions/drama through their performance on 26th August 2015.
The plays staged were –
- The Parure – Yellow House
- Little Heaven on Earth – Green House
- Beauty by Blitz – Red House
- The choice – Blue House
Two experts in the field were the judges for the competition – Mr. Vinod Baretto an engineer by profession, with an exceptional flair for music and drama. Himself a playwright and director, was more than happy to be a part of this programme.
Miss Deanna Martin, the other judge renders her musical talent through the church Choir. The heart rendering performance by the students indeed made judging quite difficult for them.
