House Feasts

House Feasts

The students of Divine Child High School are placed into four different house colours – Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. The teachers too are put into the different houses for guidance, support and encouragement for these students. Each house is attached to a patron saint whose life portrays a virtue.

The Red House Patroness is St. Cecilia and the virtue is Courage.
The Blue House Patroness is St. Therese of Lisieux and the virtue is Love.
The Green House Patroness is St. Maria Goretti and the virtue is Purity.
The Yellow House Patroness is St. Rose of Lima and the virtue is Generosity.

At different times through the year, on the feast day of the patron, the students of that house along with their teachers conduct the morning assembly with a well conducted prayer service which includes depicting a part of the saint’s life by an enactment, etc. The virtue is emphasized during the act and all students are motivated to imbibe and live the virtue.

SSC FAREWELL 2023 – 2024

SSC FAREWELL 2023 – 2024

Stepping out of the familiar on new journeys; embarking on new adventures; embracing new chapters… it’s all about a ‘FAREWELL’ of course! And though the excitement of it is all-consuming, also prevalent is the thought of separation that truly makes emotions run high.

The ‘FAREWELL’ for Std. X students witnessed a similar scenario on the 13th of February 2024 when they all assembled for their officially final day as a school student in the Divine Child High School & Junior College campus… this cocoon home which protected, nurtured and mothered them on their journey from caterpillars to becoming beautiful butterflies.

The School Hall aesthetically decorated by Std. IX students, displayed on the stage the theme – “GO, GROW, GLOW TO ENHANCE THE WORLD AROUND YOU AND WITHIN YOU”. The programme commenced with a Prayer Service conducted by the Class Teachers of Std. X. The speeches by our Principal Sr. Olivia Fernandes and Tr. Nita Upadhyay motivated and encouraged them. The Head Girl Sarah Cardoza expressed gratitude and appreciation to the school fraternity on behalf of her batch mates. The Entertainment Programme hosted by Tr. Fatima Parkar with the support of Tr. Joyce, Tr. Eureka and Tr. Violet, enlisted dances by Prefects and Std. IX students, songs, Spot Prizes, Games and the star event ‘MISS DIVINE CHILD’. The coveted title was won by Ms. Srishti Shetty; the 1st Runner-up was Ms. Yukta More; and the 2nd Runner-up was Ms. Sarah Qureshi. The programme ended on a high note with a Jam session, thoroughly enjoyed by all the students tapping their feet and grooving to the rhythm of the music.

The teachers blessed the students and wished them the best of everything in their future endeavours. It was definitely a nostalgic fun-filled day. Students bid adieu to their batch mates, hoping to meet again – somewhere, sometime!
