‘Vanamahotsav’ is a celebration of Mother Nature. Awareness to conserve forestation, preserve nature and save the environment, is the focal point of this week long celebration from 1st July to 7th July. The poet Harry Behn has put it so rightly ‘Trees are the kindest things I know…’ Yes, they indeed are! Because they fulfill so many of our needs. Their depleting number is a matter of huge concern. And so, the Divine family year after year, looked forward to and celebrated this special day with sapling plantation and sale of plants in the school. But unfortunately, this is the second year in succession that we are literally locked out of school!! However, the enthusiasm of the Divine family to build a bond with Mother Nature, lives on.
This year though home-bound, the tradition of expressing one’s feelings about nature in art, carried on. The students articulated volumes through their posters in the Poster Competition held. The winning posters were displayed in the school.
To vivify this celebration and ‘Save Mother Earth’ so to say, students were motivated to carry out this interesting activity as an on-going project for this year, in their respective homes… to plant a seed, nurture it, monitor its growth, bask in the goodness of nature, watching it bloom, blossom and come to fruition. The curiosity to learn a bit about horticulture and the will to make a difference was truly visible in the efforts of students. Dedication to this cause strengthens one’s connection to our Mother Earth.

Greetings to all of you… dear students, teachers, parents, guardians and well-wishers
It is a known fact, that the world of education is the world of books – and this year, there’s one book that stands above the rest! A bestseller, no less! The book tells a story… one never been told before… a story written by students and teachers the world over… and they call it “A WALTZ WITH TECHNOLOGY – the world of home schooling”.
And what better way to close this academic year than by congratulating the authors of this book!! Well done, dear teachers and students. This year, you have made the unthinkable, possible – with your bold and daring steps into the unknown.
When I began this academic year addressing you all, with a hope that we may see good times returning soon, little did we comprehend the depth of our situation. These are times of stress and anxiety, and have been for the whole of this school year. With life seeming uncertain and undecisive, it is only natural to lose patience and withdraw from reality. We find ourselves lost in a universe which is unfolding in a shocking manner. However, we still cling on to that hope and look ahead with a positive attitude.
Inspite of the year being one of continuous and drastic changes, you, dear teachers and students have taken life in your stride, accepted the rain along with the sunshine, seized the circumstances, polished new required expertise, ventured forward and welcomed the challenge to never stop evolving and have dedicatedly continued the learning journey. This year has seen diverse teaching skills and what’s truly admirable is the drive, passion and determination of you all. God showed each of us that we are capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for.
Your effort in everything is truly commendable and appreciated. We have together ensured smooth execution of the school year and tried to make this academic year as normal as possible by flowing through our planned calendar for the year, conducting various programmes, competitions, activities, etc. We know, it would have been different, had it been conducted in school… But, we embraced uncertainty and surged ahead in faith.
And though we have successfully completed another year of school roll, dear teachers, parents and guardians… what cannot be bypassed is the fact that many of your personal lives have witnessed and lived through a tsunami of relationship challenges, health struggles, financial pitfalls, time adjustments, etc. Your loss of a dear family member or friend, your loss of a job or accommodating to keep it on unreasonable and immoderate terms, all this and more, I humbly recognize and deeply empathise. But rising above this sadness and melancholy, surely, we have to admit that it is the Lord’s protective embrace that has kept us safe from danger and risks. Rest assured that God above, sees all your anxieties and adversities, and will continue to watch over you and your loved ones.
At this stage in life, because of what we are facing, change and uncertainty are the new norms. Nothing seems constant and everything is changing for us and around us. In the midst of this uncertainty, we still live with one certainty –that GOD is a constant in our life and it is His presence with us that can help us live through this uncertainty, with faith.
The management would like to place on record our deepest gratitude…
· Dear teachers – for your ‘never say die’ attitude… and personally, I am totally indebted, and absolutely fortunate, proud and honoured to be working with such a great team of educators.
· Dear students – for teaming up with your teachers to make education possible for you this year.
· Dear parents and guardians – for being the super support that was needed from you. You have stepped in and adjusted schedules and made proper arrangements, so that your children did not lose out on an important educative year.
I officially close this year by saying – Throughout this year, we have been there for each other, stood by each other through problems, adjustments, etc. and have honestly lived our motto ‘Born for Others’. Our Divine patron Infant Jesus, smiles down on all of us, His Divine family, and showers on us His abundant blessings. Well done dear teachers, students, parents and guardians… we can pat our backs on a responsibility carried out with faithfulness and sincerity. Kudos to us.
Wishing you all a very Happy Maharashtra Day 1st May 2021. Let’s all stay united to rise up from our present situation Once again I thank all of you and wish all of you a very relaxed vacation. Stay indoors and stay safe. We pray for the good health of you and your family. Adieu till we meet again in our next academic year 2021-2022.
God bless you and your families.

The great Maratha leader and founder of the Maratha Empire, Shivaji Maharaj is widely admired, especially in the state of Maharashtra. Born on 19th February 1630 at Shivneri fort in Pune, Maharashtra, this freedom fighter was a motivation for many.
The students of Divine Child High School not only learn about his inspiring endeavours, but also celebrate his life once every year by conducting various activities.
This year too, the children had an online celebration in his honour.
* Students of Std.l and ll glued pictures of Shivaji on paper with slogans written by them.
* Students of Std.lll made scrolls with pictures of Shivaji on them.
* Students of Std.IV drew portraits of Shivaji; others attired themselves like Shivaji or Jijabai and made small speeches about Shivaji.
These activities spread aware of the greatness of Shivaji, and hope that many of them would imbibe his impressive qualities.
