“Victory is in the quality of competition and not the final score.” – Mike Marshall
… And the scenario on the 25th of November was witness to this…
The spectators on the stands observed a very healthy exhibition of sportsmanship as the students of Divine Child High School and Junior College participated in their Annual Sports Day. All events whether parade, track or display, portrayed a genuine concern for others, while striving hard to be the best – a smooth turn of every event… talk about CLASS!
And what do we say about our parents!!… the special event for them, brought a hilarious twist to the day! They are the super entertainers!! The daddies proved their strength and stamina at the tracks… but the mummies at play, were a wholesome lot! The scramble for the balloons was a perfect trick to awaken the child within them. Bacche to bacche, maa re maa!!
A thoroughly enjoyable morning at the Holy Family Grounds.

The KP East Ward level Science Exhibition 2016-17 from Thursday 1st Dec to Saturday 3rd Dec 2016, hosted in coordination with our Divine Child High School & Junior College at our institution premises, saw a tsunami of budding scientific minds along with their mentors, proudly exhibit and present their innovative science projects.
Many of the exhibits were practical structures that the human mind with simple common thinking could conjure up. Thomas Huxley aptly said, ‘Science is simply common sense at its best’.
It was indeed a pleasure to view and experience at the exhibition, the deep interest of a spurt of brilliant young students who satisfied their innate curiosity in the world of science… this surely, for the future betterment and development of society.
Truly… Science is the poetry of reality!

‘It is good to be children sometimes,
And never better than at Christmas,
When its mighty founder
Was a child himself’
(Charles Dickens – A Christmas Carol)
The Divine children began their Christmas festivities in school with Carol Singing on Monday 19th December for Std. VII to Std. X and on Tuesday 20th December 2016 for Std. V & VI.
It is a time of the year, when the heart is exalted and sings with gladness!! And the lilting voices of these angels filled the auditorium of the school!! They crooned praises of the babe born in Bethlehem in song and their hearts believed in His glory!!
It was a soul-warming sight so see and hear the whole class present their carols… even though they are not all blessed with nightingale voices!! A thought of Maya Angelou comes to mind… “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.”

The Christmas Tableau titled ‘The Christmas Symbol Story’ was presented by the Secondary students on Tuesday 20th December 2016. The array of various Christmas symbols explaining their meaning enlightened the students on the purpose of using the symbols.
An enjoyable morning spent.

Before closing for the festive season, the students enjoyed a swinging Christmas party in their respective classrooms with their class teachers on Thursday 22nd December 2016. The lavish spread of sweetmeats and Christmas cookies tempted the palate. The children left for their winter vacation with satisfied tummies and a happy mind, looking forward to a cheerful season and a exciting New Year.

The Divine family presented a platform for youngsters to showcase their melodious voices at the ‘Divine Symphony’ an inter school Singing Competition held on 6th & 13th September 2017.
The participating schools lilted to the lyrics of devotional as well as nature / moral values songs… and it was a soothing experience for the listening ear! The elegant blend of mezzos, sopranos, altos and tenors made the performances worth hearing. The judges too appreciated the talent of the performing groups and the hardwork put into the training.
In the words of the judges – “Your voices have an ability to recharge those who are exhausted!… Continue practicing like you’ve never won & perform like you’ve never lost!”
