“Elders are the jewels of our society, their experiences are the gems we should cherish.”
The wisdom and experience that Grandparents impart is an absolute treasure trove. Their importance in our lives should be prioritized above many other things and individuals. If we look up to our parents, it is a known fact then, that our parents from learnt from them. We should be eternally indebted to them.
In a small way to show our appreciation and love for them, we organized a heartwarming Elders Day celebration on the 30th of September 2023. Grandparents above the age of 65 were invited to this event. The day began with a prayer service, invoking God’s grace and blessings. Students entertained them with dances and songs. Exciting spot prizes were also given; snacks were served; they were showered with love and made to feel special; and at the close of the programme, they each received a return gift. The Elders were happy and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
It is truly said, “Respect for the elderly is a foundation for any civilized society.”
