“When creativity met confidence, brilliance unfolded on stage”
Our school had the Annual House-wise Dramatic Competition on Tuesday 23rd September 2025. The event is held to emphasize the importance of drama in fostering creativity, confidence, and communication skills among students. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from all the four houses, each staging a play on light-hearted comedy. The performances were marked by powerful dialogue delivery, expressive acting, and effective use of costumes, props, and music.
The panel of judges evaluated the plays on the basis of content, creativity, acting, stage presence, and overall impact. It was a keen competition indeed! In their concluding remarks, the judges congratulated all the students and appreciated the efforts of all participants. The event not only provided a platform for students to exhibit their dramatic talent but also instilled in them the values of teamwork, discipline, and self-expression.
The Annual Dramatic Competition was a grand success and will be remembered as one of the most engaging events of the academic year.
Thursday 4th September – a rainy day… yet, a joyful one for the staff at Divine Child High School & Junior College.
Definitely a day to remember – when all the teaching and non-teaching staff enjoyed a day of pampering, love and respect in abundance by the students and of course, were showered with flowers too! And to top it all, the incessant rains showered abundant blessings from above.
At the assembly, the students fervently offered special prayers for the staff and thanked God for their dedication to this vocation. Our Pre-Primary Office Admin Mrs. Maria Fernandes was felicitated on the occasion of her Silver Jubilee in service at this institution. The students in their classrooms, wished their respective teachers and gave small tokens of appreciation. This was followed by an entertaining programme organized by the Student Council in the hall.
A happy day for the staff, indeed!
Anticipating Independence Day, a solemn prayer service was conducted on Thursday 14th August 2025, participated by students of Std. VIII, IX, X. The service was dedicated to all those who struggled to achieve freedom for our country and also for the faithful soldiers who guard our borders. Prayers were offered for all citizens to be responsible towards our duty to the nation.
Patriotism was the mantra of the day. Children enthusiastically participated in various activities conducted… flag hoisting, patriotic speeches, singing patriotic songs, patriotic march, patriotic poster-making and selfie points, patriotic performances, country map formation, etc.
It was an exciting day indeed!
At Divine Child High School & Jr. College, Vanamahotsav is a celebration of Mother Earth.
The assembly was conducted by Nature Club and Green Army highlighting the necessity of conserving the ‘green world’ i.e. trees, forests, etc.
Activities conducted through the day focused on ways and means to conserve, protect and enhance Mother Earth by caring for nature. Passing a message to humanity was the motto for the day. The students educated themselves in the process of Vermi-composting, Green detectives – an informative session by Project Mumbai on how to recognize and segregate different types of waste, and Poster & Slogan Competition – an art expression on saving the environment. This year the students also initiated the act of planting a sapling with their parent. The primary students created beautiful art and collage with dried and fallen leaves.
