INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day 2022 Celebrations
Yes, this year our nation celebrated its 76th Independence Day – 15th August 1947 being our first Independence Day.
And on this 75th Independence Anniversary, we at Divine Child High School had a galore of activities, events, competitions leading to our special day, as part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ –

  • On 11th August 2022, we organized ‘Prabhat Pheri’ in the surrounding area of the school. The teachers accompanied students of Stds. IV & V as they performed loud and enthusiastic national slogans ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ which reverberated in the air and instilled a sense of patriotism in all.
  • On 12th August 2022, the school resounded with the beautiful renditions of patriotic songs at the Patriotic Singing Competition.
  • V & VI made beautiful, colourful Rakhis for 76th Independence Day.
  • VII had a drawing competition on the topic of 76th Independence Day. Drawings depicted freedom fighters and our journey to freedom.
  • IX penned their views on the 76th Independence Day in their essays.
  • Rangoli competition was held for Stds. VII, VIII, IX. The creative and colourful Rangolis showcased the 76th Independence Day beautifully.

‘Twas an exciting few days preparing for our special day.
And then, the glorious 76th Independence Day dawned with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s words spoken in the year 1947, ringing in our ears and minds – “At the stroke of midnight when the world sleeps, India will awake to freedom”. Our chief guest Lion Saraswati Sankar was invited to hoist our Tricolour Flag and the singing of the National Anthem pulled at our patriotic heartstrings. The cultural events by the students created a feeling of unity and national integration. The inspiring speeches in English, Hindi and Marathi captured the audience. The atmosphere in the school was charged with the feeling of patriotism, unity and brotherhood.

WE ARE A REPUBLIC

WE ARE A REPUBLIC

The dawn of Tuesday 26th January 2021, marked the auspicious occasion of our nation’s 72nd Republic Day.

It was on the historic day of 26th January 1950, when the Constitution of India came into effect and the people of India resolved to bring the nation to a SOVEREIGN, SOCIALIST, SECULAR and DEMOCRATIC standing, promising justice, liberty, equality and fraternity to all.

A great many struggles have since stormed our country’s progressive tread. We still continuously battle social, economic and political issues. The present farmers’ protest and uprising has dampened the enthusiasm of our Republic celebrations this year. And yet, standing in solidarity for justice to prevail for them, with hope we move forward.

The zeal of taking forward and bringing to fruition, Mahatma Gandhiji’s and Ambedkar’s dream of a Republic India is intensely on. And so, the country envisages this dream through you, dear students, that as each one of you blossoms as integrated personalities and sincere citizens, you will vastly contribute not only towards its further development, and work toward the upliftment of those in need, but also for its global relationships and world peace at large.

Now that we have unfurled the tricolour and paid respect to our country, let us re-ignite within ourselves, a spark of disciple, determination, courage and commitment in constituting our great country, solemnly resolving and striving to be a voice for fair play; a beacon of fraternity to uphold the dignity of all; a compass that directs to promote equal status and opportunity for all; a tool to shatter fetters that bondage our expression of thought, belief, faith and worship.

Let us remember and salute our exemplary leaders who have passionately steered our nation toward progress and development and earned laurels for our country. Taking a leaf from their page, let us walk the talk and like Mahatma Gandhiji said, let us be the change we want to see in the world.

Let us continue to tune in with patriotism.

ART PATRIOTISM

ELDERS’ DAY

Grandparents are the most special friends a grandchild could ever have.

To thank these wonderful gifts given to us by God, Divine Child High School organized ‘Grandparents Day’ on Saturday 1st October 2022. The occasion was to make grandparents feel special and loved. It was an opportunity to celebrate them for the wisdom and love they shower on their grandchildren.

Students performed dances and sang songs to entertain their grandparents.
Dr. Smita Patil, a renowned family physician was the Chief Guest who shared a lot of health tips for grandparents to keep themselves fit and healthy.
As a token of love, a sapling was gifted to each grandparent. They all had a wonderful time.

CHRISTMAS TABLEAU

Through the season on Advent, we wait eagerly for the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ who is the embodiment of HOPE, LOVE, JOY and PEACE– the very virtues we are called to imbibe. Jesus is our Guiding Light – our Beacon of HOPE; our Master who LOVES us unconditionally; the reason for our JOY; our Prince of PEACE.

If we have prepared worthily for His coming, then we have every reason to rejoice and celebrate the season.

Here’s wishing all of you dear students and your families, a grace-filled, hopeful, loving, joyous and peaceful Christmas season.
