VANAMAHOTSAV DAY

Vanamahotsav is a type of festival which is celebrated for tree plantation. It is organized every year in the month of July across India, when millions of trees are planted on this day.

In an earnest attempt to lend a green touch to the school environment and sensitize the students about their role in conserving it, Divine Child High School celebrates Vanamahotsav by planting small saplings in the school campus every year. But due to pandemic the students were given information about the importance of Vanamahotsav Day. Students were asked to present their views through drawings and paintings of nature. The celebration was an ideal opportunity to instill the value of social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees and forests.

Sayonara… Tr. Theresa & Tr. Sarita

Trs. Theresa & Sarita

Retirement marks a new scribble in a fresh chapter. It is God’s mission continued in our life, in a different direction because His plan for us continues its purpose for as long as we live. Today, as we bid farewell to two of our senior teachers, it is amazing to note that both were born on the same day in the same year and were destined to be teaching here in the same school and retiring together now on the same day! What is truly incredible is that both of these dedicated teachers, have been singly connected with the students – one at the beginning of their school life (Jr. & Sr.KG) and one at the end (Std. IX & X)!

The management and school wishes to thank them for their committed service – Tr. Theresa for 41 years and Tr. Sarita for 20 years. May they both find happiness in the new life that opens up to them.

Dear Tr. Theresa and Tr. Sarita – Here’s to a well-deserved retirement!

YOGA DAY

International Yoga Day is celebrated by the students and teachers at Divine Child High School with great enthusiasm every year. This year International Yoga day ran with the theme ‘Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family’, and since the celebrations couldn’t be held the usual way due to the pandemic, it was streamed online on 22ndJune and 23rd June in our School. The objective of the day was to highlight the health-building and stress-relieving aspects of Yoga.

Students of grade IX and X demonstrated various asanas followed by Omkar chanting. Warm up exercises were taken and all the students performed sitting and standing asanas, importance of these were explained simultaneously. The celebration concluded with synchronized recitation of shloka. The teacher encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fitness and improve concentration. All the students were excited and energetic. Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually as well.

It was a great pleasure to include yoga day as a part of the syllabus in order to continue the invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition.
