A ‘Guru’ is always held with highest regard in our country and the celebration of ‘Teachers Day’ therefore, is looked forward to by all students when they honour their teachers on 5th September, a day dedicated specially to them. This year too, the students left no stone unturned to make this day a memorable one for their gurus. Tr. Monisha Khan and Tr. Candida Pereira celebrated 25 years of dedicated service in this institution. Sr. Principal felicitated them at the morning assembly. It was a matter of pride for the institution as well as the teachers.

The excitement of the upcoming 78th Independence celebrations was pulsating. Both the Primary and the Secondary Sections had meticulously planned the event.
For the Primary Section, the festivities began two days prior from 13th August by showcasing the spirit of unity that defined our Independence Day. Students dressed as national leaders and freedom fighters. The prayer service reflected the significance of freedom and unity and special prayers were offered for the brave soldiers who fought for independence, for our nation, its leaders and students too. The assembly was punctuated by the singing patriotic songs and hymns, including the national anthem.
The Board decoration was a delightful sight. The Tricolour Selfie Points attracted students to click photos fostering a sense of pride and also created a fun and interactive experience for everyone. A Tricolour rally was organized to commemorate Independence Day with students, teachers and community members enthusiastically carrying the national flag through the streets, chanting slogans and singing patriotic songs along the way. Onlookers joined in, by cheering and waving flags. Children enjoyed sharing their culture through dance fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our community.
On 15th August, the flag was hoisted at 8:00 am by our Chief Guest Inspector Balaji D. of the Andheri East police station. Speeches by students on our progressing nation and a house-wise Patriotic Singing Competition followed.
The day was filled with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and a sense of national pride.

Parents’ Day was celebrated on 26th July 2024. The Card Making activity by the Primary section was packed with with lots of love for their parents. The event in the hall commenced with a solemn prayer followed by a mesmerizing array of cultural program, including songs, dances and a musical skit. The students showcased their talents with great passion and energy, leaving the audience spellbound. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to express their gratitude and love for their parents. It was a day filled with laughter, music and memories that will be cherished forever.

On the occasion of Vanamahotsav, the assembly was conducted beautifully with special prayer for the environment and Mother Nature. A skit was enacted on creating awareness to save nature and importance of medicinal plants like Tulsi, Lemon grass, Aloe vera, Ajwain and Bayleaf was shared. The students also composed and sang a Nature Song.
Nature Club conducted prize winning activities like Finger Painting, Fork Painting, Quiz, Song composition on Environment, Collage with newspapers, Medicinal plant collage and painting – for students from Class V – X.

Yoga is highly beneficial for people of all ages. To instill the essence of practicing yoga on a regular basis, Yoga Day was celebrated in school on Friday 21st June 2024 which is also marked as International Yoga Day. Yoga instructor Ms. Hetal Patel addressed the students on the significance of Yoga. She demonstrated various asanas – Tadasan, Padmasan, Butterfly asan, Vajrasana, Pranayam, Anulom-Vilom, etc.
The benefits of Yoga as enumerated by the instructions were:
• It helps in strengthening flexibility
• Builds up confidence
• Reduces stress and tension
• Helps in controlling hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, obesity
• Helps improve immunity
• Improves attention span
The Yoga Day was thus successfully spent with students performing along with the instructor.

‘The more we are together, the merrier we shall be…’
After a long and relaxing summer break students and staff at Divine Child High School & Junior College returned to school on 15th June 2024. The atmosphere rang excitement and thrill and anticipation as students reunited with friends and teachers and everyone gathered to start the new academic year with a soulful prayer service. Students and staff members joined in prayers seeking blessings for a successful and safe academic year followed by an address by the Principal.
It was a fun day as students in class were each given a special welcome with personalized cards from their teachers having inspiring messages and well wishes for the new school year. The classrooms buzzed with energy during the ice-breaking activities. The first day back at school was a great success setting a positive tone for a year ahead filled with learning, growth and memorable experiences.
