The Divine Family proudly celebrated our 71st Independence Day in the school campus, with the flag hoisting at 8.00am. The Chief Guests for the occasion were Mr. Dhanesh Shetty & Mrs. Anusuya Shetty, the parents of our SSC topper for 2016-2017 academic year.
Words speak the language of the heart and it was very evident in the speeches that the students delivered in English, Marathi & Hindi… echoing the love and respect we have for our motherland and the indebted gratitude for the freedom fighters… but, at the same time acknowledging many home truths about the importance of a girl child in our society. The students exhibited that being a girl child was a matter of great pride for them. Patriotic singing too, enhanced the ambience in the campus.
It was also the feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother Mary who in purity of mind and body was accepted into heaven. We pray to our Heavenly Mother, to intercede for peace and brotherhood to prevail in our country.

Today at Divine Child High School, on the eve of our nation’s 71st Independence Day, it is an opportunity to reminisce on the freedom struggles of our ancestors and to experience deep gratitude for their selfless service and sacrifices. It is also a time to be grateful to this generous land of plenty, where all of us who are born on this soil have received and continue to receive opportunities to better our future and grow in the virtues of brotherhood, dignity and morality.
The assembly prayer focused on remembering and praying for our civil forces at the borders and also the leaders of our country. The house-wise Patriotic Singing Competition was unique, where students performed in languages. They were soul-stirring moments that made us proud to be Indian!
On this occasion the Divine Family congratulates every Indian on our 71st Independence Day and endorses that though we grow older in Independence years, we are definitely young in spirit!!
