‘The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elder person’ – Andy Rooney
In the year 1990, the United Nations declared 1st October 2016 as ‘World Elders Day’.
Happy the home that is blessed with the presence of elders… and it is only right that we honour them wholeheartedly.
As is the practice every year, the students of Divine Child High School (SSC & CBSE sections) invited their grandparents to our school to bless and thank them for their love. The morning began with prayers invoking God’s blessings on the elders.
The elders were amused with the entertainment programme of song and dance put up by the students. They were also moved to hear students speak about grandparents.
Refreshments were served and a small token of appreciation was gifted to each grandparent.
The programme closed with the singing of the National Anthem.

On 26th Aug 2016, the Divine Child School Hall witnessed the healthy competition of budding actors with full vigour and zest in the house-wise Dramatics Competition.
The plays were based on ‘Parables of Jesus’ focusing on the virtue of ‘Mercy’ and ‘Compassion’. Our eminent judges Fr. Francis Fernandes, a Jesuit priest and a dramatist himself and Bro. Arun Philip Simon, a Jesuit brother preparing for priesthood, were called on to access the performance of every act.
The sheer endurance and diligent efforts of the students and teachers made viewing the plays an immense pleasure!
