Parents’ Day Celebrations

Parents’ Day Celebrations

In a spirit of gratitude for the boundless love and numerous sacrifices made by the parents, the students celebrated them with prayer and entertainment. Like every year on this day, 26th July, this year too, the students along with the teachers offered special prayers for parents at the morning assembly. This day is dedicated to Saints Joaquim and Anne, the parents of Mother Mary who were instrumental in bringing up their child in purity, obedience, humility and goodness. They are therefore, placed as role models for parents and their feast day is celebrated as ‘Parents’ Day’.

The teachers and students invited parents to school and organized an enjoyable entertainment programme for them. They were led through a variety of performances put up by students from Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary sections. The Chief Guest congratulated the parents on the commendable role they play in their child’s life. Students who have shown a noteworthy improvement in the past academic year were acknowledged and felicitated too. The day’s event closed on a successful note.

Yoga Day Celebrations

On this International Yoga Day 21st June 2023, our celebrations in school took off on an enthusiastic start. For students to realize the invaluable gift of this ancient Indian tradition, our guest Yoga instructor Mrs. Novita Sequeira addressed the students stating the significance of the day and also spoke to them in detail about the different benefits and cures of yoga. She then led them in demonstrating different asanas – Tadasana, Padmasana, Paschimottanasana, Vajrasana, Pranayam, Anulom-Vilom, etc.

The teachers too encouraged students to make yoga a regular practice to maintain good health and fitness, reduce stress levels and improve concentration levels. They were also educated that yoga asanas build strength, flexibility, discipline, immunity and confidence.
